Abstract

In a recent ruling, Frazier v. Goudschaal, the Kansas Supreme Court held that a lesbian co-parent was entitled to full legal parent status on the basis of a co-parenting agreement that she and her partner had signed in conjunction with the birth of each of two daughters. In this column, I’ll explain the basis for the court’s ruling, as well as the national landscape for lesbian co-parents’ rights.
