Description

The Wilbur F. Breslin Center for Real Estate Studies in collaboration with Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, Nassau County Planning Commission and the Institute of Real Estate @ Hofstra University hosted a free Land Use Training Program for Municipal Planning and Zoning Officials on September 22, 2014 from 5:15 to 9:30 pm in the Multipurpose Room, Sondra and Davis S. Mack Student Center. The program provided 3.5 CLE credits and l CLE legal ethics credit in professional practice for non-transitional attorneys and AICP Certification Maintenance (CM) credits for planners. The course is intended to fulfill the New York State training requirement for municipal planning and zoning officials. A one-hour panel discussion on Downtown Revitalization was held, followed by a two-hour panel discussion on Best Practices for Public Hearings. The evening ended with a one hour presentation by Dean Patricia Salkin on Ethical Considerations for Land Use Practitioners. Ashira Ostrow, Associate Professor of Law, Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University participated as Moderator/Commentator.
